Our Kids

These are our kids as they look right now. The top one is Jennifer's, (aka PurpleOceanMoon), oldest, Rosemary aka Miss Rabbit. She is going to have her back surgery on June 5. She will be 17 on May 27th.

The middle one is Jenn's baby, Angelia aka Wings. She is our young mother who will turn 16 on November 11. She is due in September.

The bottom one is my son, Seth. He will turn 15 on June 11. He doesn't blog, or even read this one. He is very stubborn; very 14.

Just thought I'd show them to everyone. My sister Jennifer and I love our kids very, very much

What the Hell!

So yesterday was very hard. It's end of the month at work so, I've been swamped with rushes, etc. Towards the end of the day I GOT A MIGRAINE! Wow, didn't see that coming. I had to leave work 10 mins. early, this never happens.....ever. So I went home and my sister who has a lot of experience with this sort of thing, ( see pervious blogs), and I can always count on her. She was ready with the meds (God bless her). I went home immediately. I rested and when I felt better I made some food. I was just sitting there (minding my own business) when my Angelia walked in with her boyfriend.

They didn't smile or say much when they came in. This is not good. She always smiles and says "Hi Mom." They both sit down on the bed and she looked at me. I know my child and I was scared. She said that she knew I had a migraine and wasn't sure we should talk now. I guess I started to listen when she said, " I haven't had my period in two months. " That got my attention. Duh, Jenn, she is that age. I was 15 once myself. Was I lucky? No, I was on birth control.

Why, WHAT THE HELL!?! Flashes, flashes of my babies face. I started to lose it. I asked them to leave my room. I cried and thought "What now? What the hell?" I called my sister and told her. Crazy Bitch puts things in perspective. Find out what Angel wants to do about it. (She is just a child herself! How does SHE know what to do?)

I guess this is one of those "Put yourself in God's hands," kind of things. Great, just monkey freakin' great. My daughter wants to have this baby. Ok, I'm going to be a Grandma. Is it just a coincidence that this kid is coming on the fifth anniversery of my poor Greg's passing? Or are there other forces at work here. Why? There must be a reason. There has to be. I just keep seeing her as my baby. WHAT THE HELL!!!

Aaay, Boba! Ooh dat soy!

Do you recognize that sentence? If you do, you may be a nerd; like me.

I have been a nerd as long as I can remember. Other kids just knew there was something wrong with me. I had big, googly eyes, fuzzy, unmanageable hair, and later I got fat. I just looked weird. There was a point, in high school, however, where I got to be popular, but I think it was because I tranferred from a notoriously tough high school to one with nicer kids. I was popular due to fear. Oh, well! Whatever worked, eh?

Several days ago, I was watching "Revenge of the Nerds," with my son, and I got to thinking how the definition of a nerd has changed. Back in the day, when Revenge of the Nerds was made, it was the smart kids who were nerds. I don't believe that is the case, today.

So what is a modern day nerd? For one, excessive fans. Fans of Star Trek, (do you speak Klingon?) Star Wars, (like me), Stargate SG1, Lord of the Rings, (like PurpleOceanMoon). . . I could go on, but I think you get the picture. Many modern day nerds are fans who go to the extreme. They REALLY get into their fantasies. A loss of touch from reality. This makes them seem like they have no life. Folks without "lives" don't get any respect, and therefore, become nerds. But as one of this kind of nerd, I personally don't care what others think! Star Wars is the best saga the 20th century had to offer! So, if we don't care what others think, does that still make us nerds?

Another kind of nerd is the kind who doesn't have any fashion sense. They look ridiculous, so society makes funs of them, and keeps away from them, lest their lack of fashion sense rubs off onto others, making even more nerds. Isn't this ridiculous in itself? But I must admit, I am one of the first people to make fun of the fashionably challenged. It's just funny! I don't make fun of people who are poor, and can't buy fashionable clothes, but I DO make fun of the folks who obviously have the money, just not the style! Are folks born like this? Like I was born without a sense of direction? (I get lost. I have been living in Sacramento for over 20 years, and I still get lost. Mapquest is my friend. What a nerd!)

The last kind of nerd I can think of are the stupid people. This is the direct reversal of the orginal nerd. I was also this kind of nerd. I made a touchdown in my freshman year in gym class. I was so happy, until I realized that it was for the other team; I had run the wrong way. Nerd! I was the kid who didn't seem to understand what everyone else was doing. Nerd! I was the kid who was failing school. Nerd! I did learn, just later on. I was the first time driver who kept crashing and doing stupid things on the street. A big sorry to the three cars I hit while just trying to get out of my sister's apartment's parking lot. (By the way, my driver's record is perfect!) The photo above is me in the height of nerdiness. Check the fashion sense, though, eh?

Did I miss any other kind of nerd? Were you a nerd? What kind?

Another Crappy-Ass Day

Yesterday sucked.

I had to leave work at noon to make it to a workshop for setting my divorce for trial. I sent a message to my boss, asking if it was ok to make up my hours today, in the afternoon, as that is when it is most busy. I also asked if I could start working on Thursdays, too. (I had been working three days a week; Monday, Wednesday and Friday, all day). I didn't get a response from him.

Before I left, I knocked on his door and asked him if he got my message. He said he did, so I asked what he thought. He said, "let's go discuss this in the conference room." I said a cheerful ok, and we went into the conference room. Then he shocked the shit out of me. He said, "you're a nice person, but you don't seem to get it. I am letting you go." WHAT? . . . WHAT? Is what I'm thinking. I said, "but I thought I was doing very, very well!" He said he didn't think I got what they are trying to do in that office. WHAT?!!! He gave me a check that included two weeks pay. In total and complete shock, I gathered up my things and began saying goodbye to the people I loved and thought I would be spending years with.

Why was I in complete shock? Because the girl who was training me was thrilled with all that I knew already, and how well I was doing. The second day I was there, I simplified their e-filing system. The second week, I simplified their storage system. They are still using index cards, for crying out loud! They have this huge, old fashioned library index card holder system clogging up their kitchen! I was planning to convert the cards to a binder system, to take up less physical space. I also did a huge cleanup on their boxes and boxes that needed to be closed and go to storage! I was working my ass off, and flooring them almost every week, with what is really just common sense and hard work!

So why was I and another part-time girl hired in the first place? The lead secretary told me over and over again, that they were planning to get the boss to hire both of us full-time, eventually. There is plenty of work, and that's why I felt comfortable asking for more hours. But now, I believe that we really were only hired to cover the lead secretary's vacation. I was there for two weeks when she went on leave for two weeks. That's why I believe the other girl and I were given a crash course the first two weeks. It really was a crash course, too. I just listened hard and made plenty of notes. That was two weeks ago. At first, I had suspected that's what was going to happen, but all the work that needed to be done made me think otherwise.

Now that I think about it, and after hearing him quietly discussing the other part-time girl's future plans, I know that that's what happened. The other part-time girl is going to college, and has never worked in a law office before. I could tell that she was frustrating the one who was training us. The other part-timer is trying to get into UCLA, and would soon leave if she did. I realized that we were never going to go full-time, and that I was given a bullshit reason for termination. Complete bullshit. I'm sure they will let her go, too, if they haven't already. They might keep her around to finish the storage problem, but after that, they'll probably let her go, if she doesn't leave on her own.

I believe I could have worked there a little longer, but I asked for more hours, and the boss is a reported cheapskate, and also a little shady. He has the secretarys sign his name for him on all the documents. They don't write, "for." on there, either. They just pretend it's him signing. It took them over a year just to get him to get a water cooler for the office.

I forgot things I was supposed to bring when I went to the workshop at the court, and will have to re-schedule. I went to my friend, Monica's house and they made me feel better. Monica has kids who are just the sweetest little people, and they cheered me considerably. Monica also calmed me and soothed my nerves with a little talking it out. I am grateful for her friendship and support. She's a great friend, and I consider her and her family, my family.

So, I gotta look for another job, and hope it sticks. I also have to hope they will pay me my per hour rate, be close by my house, (because of my migraines), be nice to me, and be commited to me as an employee. I prayed to God already, so now I just have to believe in Him, and that He will guide me to the correct path. The work I was doing there was close to collections, and when I got home and thought about some of the defendants and why they couldn't pay their rent, it made me sad and sorry for them. Perhaps, God plucked me out of there for that reason. God always answers my prayers, so I will focus on that. I will pray, and believe.

Easter!

Wow! That was FUN! That was one of the funnest Easters at Grandma and Grandpa's in a long time! My horoscope had said that my relatives would be in rare form, and they were! We all had a great time! Actually, poor Rosemary was having bad back pain, but I think she had fun at first, too.

Jessica and Manuel are great at Guiter Hero! They are equal to each other in skill, as far as I could tell! Our first song was played by Jess and myself, and we were totally rockin'! Watching Seth and Manuel play together was also exciting! Angelia and Day-Day totally rocked "Woman" for us, but Jenn didn't feel like playing. We were all excited to play for our folks.

The food was delicious! I was sooo full, that I couldn't eat cake until I got home. Yes, my friends, I got to take the cake! Mmmmmmm!

The only thing I regret, is that I played and watched so much Guitar Hero, that I forgot to get the scoop from Cassie, all about her wedding! Damn! I LOVE weddings, and I had a buttload of questions! I realised this when I began asking Nana questions about the wedding after Cassie left. Oh, well. Hopefully I'll be able to grill her soon.
So, I thought I would put some old Easter photos on here. I know how my mom loves them. The one on top is Cassie, Rosie, Angel and baby Seth, plopped on the ground. The one next to it is Rose, Angel and Seth. The really, really OLD ones are of me and my mysterious Easter basket, and the other is me and Jenn. Sorry, but I couldn't find one with little Manuel in it! I need to get mom's old pictures from her and just scan them all! What do you say, mom?
HAPPY EASTER, MY FRIENDS!

OK DON'T WORRY!

Ok, for about a while I've been having back problems. Now I've been going to the doctor to see what was wrong with it, its been hurting like crazy!!!!! So finally today was the diagnosis. The doctor told me that I have a small stress fracture on the outside of my lower spine about five disks up.This causes my first disk to be pushed out 50%.

To fix my first disk they have to go through my belly. They will take the cushion out and replace it with bone from my hip. Then they will flip me over and put two screws by the fracture in my back. All I want is my back fixed. I will have the surgery in two months and it will take 1 month to heal. So in the mean time I have home school. I like that part because I can sleep in - lol ok.

DOH!!!

For the last two weeks, I have been at the Family Law Courthouse every day off I've had. Every Tuesday and Thursday. I get up early in the morning and head down to my second job: getting a divorce.

I had my husband file the Summons because I knew he would have to pay a big fee for filing the first paper in a case, as I am a legal secretary. I thought I was being slick. I found out today that I was soooooo wrong.

It has been almost a year since that first paper was filed. We are about to "celebrate" our third year! Oh, my God.

I waited and waited for the court to send me a Default, since I planned on doing nothing to get a Default Judgment. That's not how it goes when your spouse doesn't file a Request to Enter Default. I have bugged him and bugged him for months to get this taken care of, but since he has moved to FLORIDA, he can't do it himself. He had help in the first place, and told me that he had been calling "the girl" who did the Summons for him, but she had a death in the family, then she never called him back, then she said she did it, but I never got a copy of the Request. And you ALWAYS get a copy of the Request to Enter Default if you live in the same place as you were served, as do I. SO!

I called him and told him I was going down to the courthouse to find out what's going on. You have to wait in line to tell them why you are there, then if they have to pull your file, which they always do to tell you the next step, then you get a number and wait until called. I have been getting down there when they opened, but today I decided to sleep in, and then go. BIG MISTAKE. I am going to be working full time for two weeks to cover our supervisor at work, so I wanted to sleep in. What an idiot I was for thinking I could get away with that!

I got there about 11 and got out of there at 2:45. That isn't the worst of it! The Response I was supposed to file cost me $320.00!!! And I am so poor already! Man!

So, the point is that I could've bit the bullet and paid to have the Summons filed, and that would've enabled ME to be the one to file the Request to Enter Default six months after the Summons was served, and I wouldn't be going through this! I would be divorced by now! I was going to pay anyway, and I would've been DONE! DOH!!!!

Daughtry!!!

Ok, How much do I love him? Huh? Anyone?

I've only watched the first season of American Idol. I only heard of him after he got kicked off "Idol" and the outrage that followed. Cassie said that she cried when he got kicked off. So I figured he was a good singer. I've been hearing " It's not over" on the radio A LOT. I love this song!! So much, so I bought the CD. It's the first song, I really didn't think I would be listening to the rest of it. I was wrong!!! Next thing I know I've listened to the whole CD five times, in a row. I haven't been this obessed since I bought Godsmack "Awake."
Not only is this man FINE, but his voice breaks my heart. I like all the songs. My favorites are used to, home , OVER YOU (my new fav), crashed, feels like tonight & what about now. Deep sigh.........
Love is good
P.S. On my last post about a good year. Well, the hot guy has a girl (of course) and I didn't get the job. I still have Daughtry though.

PurpleOceanMoon's Birthday!

As many of you may know, yesterday was Jennifer's birthday! I'll let her tell you how old she is!

I surprised her with home fried tacos and a homemade cake. We put her age in candles on the cake! What a fire!

I thank God for my sister! She is the best sister anyone could ask for, and I love her dearly. She is my very best friend, and is indeed almost myself.

Whew!

Well, I got the job! I went in for a second interview today, and I was on the phone telling my mom, when I got a call on the other line. It was the office, and they want me to start on Monday! It's another part-timer, but with my migraines and all the troubles with Medi-Cal, Unemployment and my divorce, I think it's a good thing. Also, you can still get Unemployment in you are part-time! So I think I will be good for a while! I just need to not have migraines and illnessess, so wish me luck!

Wednesday, February 21, 2007

Heh, heh

I stopped crying and got ready for my job interview. It occured to me that I might get this position, and then unemployment would just be a terrible memory. I was ready early, so I called the office to see if they would like me to come in right then. They said, "Great! See you in a few minutes!" The interview went beautifully! It seems that my experience is exactly what they need! Also, the office is just 5 to 10 minutes away! The position is part-time right now, but the two secretaries I interviewed with are going to push for full-time. They have a huge pile of judgments that need to be worked, and I know how to move a huge pile of anything, let alone judgments! A second interview with the actual attorney is needed and before I left, the senior secretary said I would be hearing from her! Please, God, let me KEEP this one!

When I got back, I felt better. I calmly started to look through all my records that I keep ever so neatly, (not!), in the corner. The dust may still give me a migraine, but I don't care. I found a statement from Social Security! It was for 2004, though. I called un-employment, and actually got in to hold right away! I was on hold for about 7-10 minutes, but at last I got someone. He said the statement would be fine, and that they really want a copy of my driver's license and something for address verification. So I made the appropriate copies, threw in a copy of my last W2's, and they are waiting for the mailperson right now. Whew! So, I will at least still get unemployment money! I can still get it if I am not working full-time, too! Again, whew!

I'm a freaker-outer! Sometimes I just have to remember to calm down because nobody is going to explode if things don't go smoothly. Bumps in the road are all part of life, and flippin' out helps no one.

Even More Troubles

Nothing is going smoothly for me, right now. I am in tears at this very moment.

I applied to Unemployment last week online, and now they sent me a letter saying that they don't know who I am and that they need all these documents stating who I am, most importantly, my annual social security statement. I have looked every place I could look, and could not find it. I have to order it. I have a job interview today, and looking through all this dusty stuff could give me a migraine. I already had one yesterday, too.

The letter from the EDD said to call them if I need more time to collect the documents. I called. They said they had already gotton the most calls possible, sorry, call later, and then hangs up on me. I called over and over, until I got accepted and was on hold. My phone was going to die, so I tried putting it on the charger. It hung up.

I decided to call Social Security to request a copy of the annual statement. I get through pretty quickly, but the lady says that they mail your statement right around your birthday. Mine's in October, so I won't be getting another one for a year. I ask for another one, she said I have to apply for it. All she can do is send me the request form, and when I fill it out and send it back in, it'll take about TWO MONTHS to get! This is why I am crying! Every single fuckin' thing I have been trying to do lately has just been waaay difficult! I realize that if I hadn't lost my statement, I wouldn't be in this mess, but what can I do about that now?

On another note, when I finally got a new worker for Medi-Cal, she had me go down to the office and meet with the lady who helps people fill out that form where you choose your dentist and doctor. That form that didn't have a place for my doctor that I put the doctor on anyway. I already knew how to fill it out, and didn't know why my worker told me to come down. When I met with the lady, she said that I had been kicked off Medi-Cal due to, "non-cooperation with other insurance issues," or something similar. Can you believe it?! NON-COOPERATION!!! I assumed they put that there because I didn't produced a letter from Kaiser! I had to fill out the form and start all over again!

I really don't know how much more of this crap I can take! I need SOMETHING to go smoothly! Please God, listen to me and answer my prayers!

Definition of a Bitch

My friend, Crystal sent this email to me, and being the Crazy Bitch, and identifying with it so well, I had to put it on my blog instead of sending it to all my women friends. I want men to see it, too. We women still get a lot of flack for simply being female and showing our feelings. When are we going to be viewed as equal to men? When will we all just be, "people?"

When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a bitch.

When I stand up for those I love, they call me a bitch.

When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts or do things my own way, they call me a bitch.

Being a bitch means I won't compromise what's in my heart It means I live my

life MY way. It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.

When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it, I am defined as a bitch.

The same thing happens when I take time for myself instead of being everyone's maid, or when I act a little selfish.

It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think I "should" be.

I am outspoken, opinionated and determined. I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!

So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me. You won't succeed.

And if that makes me a bitch, so be it. I embrace the title and am proud to bear it.

Updates

I thought I would update some of my blogs. They didn't really need an entire post on any of them.

Medi-Cal Woes: I called Kaiser again. They said the K code was off. I tried to make an appointment at my doctor's again. Sorry, ma'am, our computer is down right now and I can't make an appointment. That was Friday. I tried to re-fill some prescriptions for my migraines at Walmart. They re-filled one of them just about two months ago. Sorry, ma'am. They say you are ineligible. I call my new worker today. Please leave me a message, I'm gone from the 4th through the 12th. I left a HUGE message. I am waiting, again.

Barking Dog: The dog has been given a nice, plastic dog igloo. She has been barking less. I knew she would bark less because she is less scared. I haven't heard the man beating her again. I do hear both of them yelling at her to shut up. Sometimes kids come over and play with her all day long.

Guitar Hero: I have just beat Guitar Hero II on medium! The UFO came and took me away just like a true legend! I just tried "Shout at the Devil," on hard. Couldn't even get through it. Did you know that your character looks sad when you suck? I'm not sure I can do hard. I don't think my eyes can look that fast. Everybody over here in the Arden Area are pretty stoked that we're bringing it to Grandma's on Easter. Rosie and Angel are learning how wonderful it is.

Migraines: I have had one other migraine since the really bad one. I did not take too much medicine, and bravely got through it with acupressure. My second days are getting worse, though.

Job Search: I have had an interview with a wonderful law firm downtown. They are in the house that the owner of Weinstocks built in Sacramento when they left San Francisco because of the earthquake. I hope I get it. I also hope it has ghosts! The lights flickered when I was waiting for my interview!

Well, my peeps, be well.

I'm a Guitar Hero!!!

Guess what?!! I have just BEAT Guitar Hero II (on Easy)!!!!! Yaaaaaaay for me!!!!

I have NEVER beat a video game EVER! I think I'm pretty good at this! And I really DO feel like a Guitar Hero! I ROCK!!!!

At this point, I, Jenn and Seth would like to put the idea of playing Guitar Hero with Mr and MrsManuel and Miss Cassie on Easter at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Whaddaya guys think? Shall we play?

AAAAAAAGH!!!!!!

On my last blog, I was talking about hope. The very next day I got a migraine so painful, I accidently overdosed slightly, I had a panic attack and totally thought I was going to die. My mom had to come home from work and just hold me for about an hour until I went to sleep. I had mixed acetaminophen and muscle cream along with my hard core anti-inflamatories prescribed by the doctor. I was on the computer when I got the aura, so that's why I haven't been on it again since. I just got brave enough to get on again, because today I got really, really pissed.

Since my husband left in April of last year, I have been trying to get to see the doctor. I applied to Medi-Cal again, and waited and waited for my cards. I called my worker. He said he would send me a temporary Medi-Cal card. I got it in a few days. More time goes by. I called my worker. Where's my permanent medical card? That WAS your permanent medical card, he says. Ok, but who's my dentist and doctor? Ok, I'll have them send you your information packet to fill out. You have to send it in by the deadline it gives you or you'll have to start all over again-ok? Ok.

I get my packet. On the doctor and dentist form there isn't a place to put my doctor choice. I put it on the form anyway. A month or so later, I get my dentist and dental card. I call my worker. Where's my doctor? He says, I don't know. Call this 800 number. So I call the 800 number. You're listed as having Kaiser, ma'am. What? You have to tell your worker to get Kaiser off of here. He's the only one who can do it. I call my worker. I had to leave a message. He didn't call me back for over a week and two messages later. I finally called the office to speak to his supervisor. Oh, he's in a meeting with everyone, and there's no one who can help you right now, sorry. Just leave another message.

I left a message for his supervisor, but got a call from him. I told him what happened and how he has to take Kaiser off my file. He said he would mail me a form. A few days later, I get the form. It looks like the wrong form. I called my worker. No that's the right form, just fill out this one little question, and send it back to me. I did. FINALLY, I got my medical card and my doctor. I made an appointment. I had to wait about three weeks, but it was today.

I am filling out the papers for new patients when I hear them call my name. They said, sorry, you are listed as having Kaiser. WHAT?!!!! We can't see you today, bye bye!

Furiously I head for the welfare office. I wasn't going to call that idiot again. I get to the window and the lady says I can't see my stupid worker because he isn't my worker anymore. I don't have a worker, right now. WHAT?!!! OH MY GOD! I HAVE to talk to someone today! Ok, the lady says, you can see the Worker of the Day.

FORTY MINUTES LATER! I go to the window, again, as I have had to do twice already. (This is their way to make you give up and go home, maybe?) Finally, I got to see the Worker of the Day. She says I have to get a letter from Kaiser stating that I don't have them anymore. What?

Now, let's take a second here, and look at all the technology in the world and figure out why these idiots can't just call each other, or fax the letter to Medi-Cal, or communicate in some way? Why do I have to do this?

I started crying. This HAS to work, I tell her! My migraines and allergies are out of control! This has been going on since APRIL! Come ON! She says I can just to to one of Kaiser's administrative offices and get the letter and then just bring it back to them. So I drive down to Kaiser. There is no parking. Not one space! It's the hospital, what was I thinking, anyway?

So I go home and call the member services 800 number. When I get through all the automated crap and finally get a person she says that Kaiser doesn't give letters. They will take the K-code off of me and that will take 24 to 48 BUSINESS hours to complete. I said, but Medi-Cal told me to get a letter! What if this doesn't work? She said it WILL work, and that it may be Medi-Cal's policy to ask for a letter, but it isn't Kaiser's policy. Their policy is to do the K-code thing. Bye!

So that's where I am now, waiting for almost a week to get this K-code thing off my file. I will make another appointment with my doctor, but I'm going to check my eligibility before I go in. I am soooo pissed right, now!

Nobody cares about you when you are on Medi-Cal. Nobody has any sympathy for you. It doesn't matter that your life is falling apart. It's just not their policy.

This Year (so far)

Ok, so far this year is freaking great!

I haven't thought about whathisname is so long. This makes me VERY happy. It might truely be time to move on. I want to know how everyone feels about dating at work. There is a smoking hot guy at work and I'm very curious about him. But should I even bother and what if it dosen't work out? Awkward? I've been trying to give it some real thought here. I don't need to jack-up my life anymore than it is.

Oh my god he is fine! I find myself trying to find ways to talk to him. He's always so nice and sends me email's sometimes with a ;-). How cute is that? He's smells good too. I don't know help me out guys!!

The other GREAT, WONDERFUL & AMAZING thing in my life? I don't want to jinx it, but I (maybe) getting a promotion. With a raise and bounes every three months, so keep yuou fingers crossed for me.

So far, so good. If January is this good, can you imagine how this REST of the year might go?

Crap!

Last Wednesday, I was let go from the first of my two part-time jobs. I am pretty sad and also happy.

I am sad because I will be even poorer and I will miss my boss. He was the most kind and understanding boss I have ever had. He never minded when I had a migraine, and was indeed very concerned for me when I did. He was generous in my pay per hour, and birthday and Christmas gifts. I will never forget "Sir."

I am happy I am not there anymore because I didn't get along very well with Sir's secretary. She was always crabby and short-tempered. She used to snap at me almost everyday I was there. She made me so nervous that I had a hard time learning. (I have been learning very well at my second job because they are so laid back.) Everything had to be perfect, and nobody's perfect.

I had just begun to "get it," when I was let go. They just didn't have enough work for me.

I went to work at my only job, now, yesterday. I had a full day, and got a lot done. Nobody there thinks things have to be perfect. Not even the boss, who is Sir's best friend. I hope work doesn't run out there, too. I really like it there. I am hoping that someday, they'll hire me full time. I wouldn't have to worry about my migraines because my boss there is also very understanding, and much more laid back than Sir.

Besides, I am going to the doctor at the end of the month, and am hoping allergy shots will cause me to have much fewer migraines. Then I'll only have my emotional problems to deal with, which I must say is getting better. I am beginning to think I may not need anti-depressants. This has just been a hard time in my life. After all, I AM getting divorced and being forced back into the work place with this debilitating condition.

But for some reason, I am feeling really strong today. I usually feel weak and ineffective when I lose a job, but today I feel like I'll be able to take care of myself and my son once I begin my allergy shots. It must be HOPE.
